VASCULAR TREATMENT

In addition to the natural aging process, visible veins, vessels and broken capillaries are a result of sun damage. Regardless of their cause, their presence can be frustrating and even embarrassing.

WHAT IT DOES

At SkinStudioMD, we offer ClearScan™ by Sciton for safely treating vascular lesions and redness. ClearScan™ allows precise treatment of rosacea, redness, visible vessels, broken capillaries, spider veins, vascular lesions and discolouration of the skin by using laser energy. We will tailor a treatment plan to match your skin condition and desired result. All skin areas can be treated, with the most popular being the face, neck, chest and legs.

HOW IT WORKS

ClearScan™ is used to restore the skin’s tone and colour. Broken capillaries and other visible vascular structures are gently eliminated from the upper layers of the skin’s surface. Unwanted vessels are preferentially heated by the laser energy and become less noticeable.

WHAT TO EXPECT

HOW IT FEELS

There should be little to no discomfort during this treatment, however this varies by patient and the area being treated. Your eyes will be protected with safety shields or glasses. Laser energy will be delivered precisely to the area of your skin being treated. You may briefly feel a warm or hot sensation as the laser pulses are absorbed by the unwanted vessels.

TREATMENT TIME

This treatment can take between a few minutes to half an hour, depending on the size of the area to be treated.

DOWNTIME

Your skin will be pink temporarily but this will resolve over time. Any vessels denatured by the laser will be reabsorbed by your body over a period of time in a natural cleansing process. Most small capillaries will become invisible almost immediately, since they will no longer contain blood. Your skin will be sensitive to ultraviolet light while the skin is healing and direct sun exposure must be avoided during this time.

FREQUENCY

Frequency and the number of treatments required will depend on the area being treated as well as the type and severity of the concern being treated.
